Larchmont Mamaroneck Football Club (LMFC)

Ben is the Director of Coaching for the newly formed LMFC which is the combination of two existing clubs - Larchmont (LJSL) and Mamaroneck (MJSL).  He is in charge of the program design, training philosophy, staffing and implementation.

U-8 Program  The innovative new U8 program has moved away from the overly competitive traditional league format.  The new program provides a stepping stone to competitive travel soccer with the focus on long term development, participation and enjoyment for every player involved in the program.  Based on the soccer teachings of federations around the world, this program has been designed to instill a passion for the game while maximizing skill development.  Following US Soccer's new initiative, the program consists of:

  • Two, one hour practices each week with professional trainers with a focus on skill development in small-sided games-based training.
  • Weekly Game Day using a 4v4 format in a festival like setting which creates an ideal environment for players to explore, learn and enjoy the game free of the pressure of the traditional league format
  • Festivals with outside programs brings more competition into the program.

Overall the program creates more success, less pressure and more fun for the kids just starting out.

U-9 to High School programs are run as individual teams with professional coaches.

Parent Education

We recognize that parents play a vital role in their child's soccer experience.  Getting parents and coaches on the same page helps make the child's experience better.  Before each season we have a parent meeting on format and philosophy.  We also look to share the numerous educational videos and articles we review from soccer experts around the world
